I'm glad to see some movement on the DS9 front. That being said, why now? Botched 50th anniversary, anyone? Moreover, I already have DS9 on DVD...I hope a similar release for Voyager. I don't have that and those old dvds would dent anyone's wallet.

Kinda happy they re-released it, since I didn't have to hunt down aging copies of the original DVD release.

And having seen a lot of DS9 now, I really do hope they go remaster it proper for Blu-Ray despite added CGI involved (don't some of the CGI files still exist and could be converted to modern software for rendering?). TNG was amazing and it felt like a whole new show, but DS9 is definitely the most deserving. TNG is a beige hotel in space where any drop of color made it that much more lively. DS9 from the get-go has sets and costumes that are steeped in design and color, which no other Trek series comes close to. True, TOS comes close in terms of color palette but not with intricate costume designs, which are consistently lush and rich in DS9. As rich as the arcs and themes. DS9 truly was made for HD.
