Star Trek: Dauntless

Hi, I'm new here so I hope that doesn't put anyone off. I'm looking for voice actors, writers and music composers for my fan series, Star Trek: Dauntless. The series takes place on the U.S.S. Dauntless NX-77197. The Dauntless is Start "Narsil" Baldwin's Interceptor-Class which you can see on www.scifi-meshes.com. I've been working on this for more than a year now but I've been held back by the fact that I'm the only one working on it. The cast includes:
Captain Sam Morgan, a 52-year old Human who isn't always the smartest guy around.
Commander Stephen Harrison, the first officer who objects to having Morgan as the Captain
Lt cmdr Jarlan Tor, the Bolian science officer and adviser to the Captain.
Lt Anowi Sirus, an unusual person who resembles a hammerhead shark but this makes him perfect for the security chief. Anowi Sirus was designed by Stuart Baldwin as part of the Interceptor technical manual.
Lt Sarah Westland, don't have anything to say about this character as I'm a dude. I'm trying to get my sister to help.
Lt David Daniels (name may be changed), a friend of Commander Harrison's, he has a bad temper but is a brilliant engineer.
Doctor Phillip Dayton, hmm, your average Starfleet doctor. I should have more information once I get further with the script.
Ensign Nathan Mckenzie, the operations officer, another difficult character to make interesting, one reason why I need writers.
Crewman Torin Denor, the Cardassian helmsman who was given a field commission due to the crisis Starfleet faced in the pilot.
I am considering changing the above character to Garak as intelligence officer or something like that, it depends if I can find someone who sounds like him. The plot of the pilot is this:
A Starfleet ship, the U.S.S. Excalibur has begun destroying other starships for no apparent reason. The survivors of the various ships come together on a remote planet to find out what is going on. They discover something more deadly and mysterious than anything they have faced before. The survivors have to act quickly if they want to save the Federation, and there is only one option, build an entire starship from stolen and salvaged parts. The result is the Dauntless, a brand new ship with the latest technology which the hope will lead them to victory. I will be doing the 3d stuff (every scene) but I am looking for people willing to help out. I will be using Blender for the graphics. I want to have a website but my main talents lie in modeling, I've already built the bridge, ready room, sickbay (in progress but mostly complete), engineering (in progress) and transporter room. Where are you based?
I live in South Africa but that doesn't really matter as this will be a CG animated series so you can just email the lines you've recorded to me.

I've decided that for the music, I want something a lot like some of the music on ST: TUC. Mainly towards the end.
 
hey, so i happen to be a guru when it comes to blender, is it possible to see some images of what you have so far?
are you making the characters in blender, or are you using a different program for that ie: poser or makehuman?

I'm using Makehuman to make the characters but so far I've only made one, the Captain, although the uniform was a TNG poser one I imported. Here are pictures of some of the sets:

None are finished and some like engineering really need work. Another thing I need help with is LCARS. I want some new, updated graphics similar to the Nemesis ones but with mostly bluish colors and a more streamlined and smooth look.

oh i've see that youve improved the lighting a bit mainly on the bridge,
the best blace for lcars would be www.okudagrams.com
i know they have a thread with ent-e lcars from nemesis

is it possible to see the makehuman character?
are you using version 9.0 or 9.1?

when ever i try to use poser clothes, in blender, they always come in pieces that come apart when i try to rig them

I'll try to render a picture tomorrow along with an update for engineering. I don't have Poser but I did get a Poser TNG uniform which I retextued to be the Interceptor uniform designed by Stuart Baldwin.
 
yeah hair is very difficult to do
and it looks like you are using the older version of makehuman too
but the character looks nicei like the skin material,
i have never been able to get my skin to look that nice

I'm not sure how old it is. It was with the "Introducing character animation with Blender" book. I didn't make the skin, I got it from Blender materials.org. I made my own by following a tutorial but it didn't look as good.

You will need Celtx to open the file. You will notice that two of the bios are either empty or unfinished, I just couldn't come up with anything interesting for those characters, everyone with writing talent step forward. I'm writing the script as I write this post, but I'm stuck with the name for one of the villains but should have one soon.
 
Have you got a copy of the script we can look at, maybe in pdf? Or are you keeping it under wraps?
 
Het, Batboy, in all your days of guruing have you ever learned to do a good nebula? I've been trying to create one for a while now as it is important for the pilot. Preferably an orange one.
