Star Trek D.A.C. out today

So, Xbox Live Marketplace now offers Star Trek DAC. Has anyone played it yet?

My first impression is a good one. It's very simple, that game, very arcade-y shoot em up, but it's fun.

Too bad there are only two races to play - fits the film, but more variety would've been nice - and only three ship classes in each race.

On the upside: Original score from the film - yay! And nice maps that even show a certain planet in a certain condition... you know what I mean...

So for all Xbox users, make sure to at least download the trail version and then try going up against my mighty bomber ship. :klingon:

The game is fun enough. I wish one of the playable ships would have been the Kelvin though. that would be pretty sweet.

The ejection system is a nice touch too.

I tried the Xbox 360 demo. I was very disappointed and won't be buying the full game, especially since the reviews have pretty much confirmed what I already thought or expected.

Xbox Live, the only platform it's actually available on thus far.

There is absolutely nothing here that makes this game even the slightest bit compelling. It's a shitty, by the numbers arcade shooter with gameplay shallower than Space Invaders. My advice? Save the 7 bucks for something with a bit of depth. It's a cheap, rushed cash in and not worthy of anyone's time.

From my experiences with the Xbox 360 demo, this is "generic top down shooter" with a Trek skin applied and literally nothing more.

The developers should be ashamed at that they didn't put ANY effort into it at all.

"Dismally Awful Cash-in" ?

Nah, apparently it means “Deathmatch-Assault-Conquest”... which implies a lot more substance than it actually has.

Like the BSG game then?

I was thinking "Daft Arcade Crap" but guess not.
Are they actually trying to link it to the Star Trek Conquest game wit that name?

Well i bought it.

Good points.
Its got the new enterprise on the menu screen
Its got music from the movie.

Bad points.
Everything else.
