Star Trek Crosses $350 Million Worldwide

Figured this deserved its own thread.

After the final weekend numbers, Star Trek's domestic box office has reached $231,882,965. Combined with the international numbers, Star Trek just cleared the $350 million mark on Sunday.

International Total: $118,519,512
Global Total: $350,402,477

Not too damned shabby... and as Indranee pointed out, the international figure is bound to jump once her cousins are done watching the movie multiple times... :p

Just proof that for many, Dollars equal quality. I of course, will add to the treasure when the rental DVD appears.

Any hope for a billion? Several years down the road of course.

Looks like 250 domestic looks very reachable now. :D

Hope this means they will give the sequel an even bigger budget, if possible, and make it even more kickass than the first.

I want them to really pull out all the PR stops next time. that means international PR. :)

Feels good to be looking forward to another movie with a positive frame of mind again, doesn't it? :)

Hopefully they'll keep the same teams in charge for the next movie.

Spoilers... I WANT SPOILERS...!

^
Gosh, that's going to be a dilemma for me, I had to fight so hard to keep myself spoiler-free... yet on the flipside, I missed out on all the speculative fun. :(

I hope they don't increase the budget, or if they do it is very little. The last thing this Trek needs to become is another bloated franchise with an out of control budget.

Agreed. The budget for this film was ambitious by Trek standards, no need to go overboard just because this one did so well. A reasonable inflation-type increase will be fine, just give us another strong script and the dollars will keep flowing in.

$350M worldwide... awesome. I know TMP's inflation-adjusted WW total is in the $400M neighborhood; are any of the other Trek movies still ahead of Star Trek in the adjusted WW box office rankings? I know it has passed all but TMP in the domestic total, so I'm guessing it's also #2 worldwide adjusted?

I agree. Let's hope Hanks does standard scale since he's a fan... :p

Yeah, I stayed out of here and remained relatively spoiler free, except for some isolated ones a person could encounter just by breathing. When they open up the forum for the new movie, I will be avoiding that one, too.

With any luck there'll be Rat Boy's caption threads from the trailers, and a funny spam thread like the Blue Warp Nacelles that'll mean I get to have fun with the new movie while avoiding all the serious discussion of spoilers!
