Star Trek Corps of Engineers?

Loqutus

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
Does anyone know if any more novels planned? I have looked but can't find out. Like what they did with Scott and Jordi

Geordi. And the CoE line was discontinued because the ebooks weren't selling well enough, although last I heard the trade paperbacks reprints were still doing well, so I imagine we'll see the whole thing in dead tree format eventually.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

The Corps of Engineers books were originally done in eBook form, from 2000-2007. That line ended with Remembrance of Things Past by Terri Osborne, which was the 74th eBook in the series.

However, the codex book reprints of the stories have only gone through to the 56th eBook thus far. There are still four trade paperbacks' worth of material yet to be reprinted, the next of which -- Out of the Cocoon -- is scheduled to come out in December 2010.

So do have any idea yet when the last hardcopy collection will be out?

The real bitch of it will be when the last Hardcopy Reprint finally comes out.

Up til then, the stock reply has been, (There's still Reprints on the way...)

However, when that is no longer the case, that's when the decision whether or not to continue the series will finally come to a head.

And yes, I'm talking about more in the series, despite the use of the SCE characters elsewhere (as I'm all for that), but I liked those short stories.

I'm hoping for more, just because it's my second favorite trek literature series next to Vanguard & Klingon Empire tying for first.

Deep Space Nine is still my favorite Core Series, but it's gotten hard to remember what's going on these days. (Scheduled to be reread as soon as I finish everything ahead of it in the queue.)

How hard would it be to do stand alone novels for SCE? I mean, I'd love to see a SCE novel tie into Typhon Pact... might even give the series a shot in the arm, too

It would also give us somebody other than TNG involved in it. Titan and Voyager are too far away to have any real impact on the Typhon Pact, DS9 is still stuck in the past (please, no speeches about pacing for the good of the story and "artificial" time jumps, thanks. I know, I agree, etc.), NF never acknowledges that there is a Trek literary universe, and GKN/KLE seems to be as much in limbo. I like the Enterprise, and its new crew is finally cohesive, but it's still just one series for a major story line. I'm sure we'll get little slivers of things on Aventine, Gorkon, and da Vinci, as well as certainly shots of "Hey, remember Lt. Cdr. Hester Dealt from 'The Child?' He's now Captain of the USS Dormammu!", and hopefully lots of stuff with President Bacco, but it would be nice if it we had more than snippets of life outside Enterprise.

Actually, given that the Kinshaya are Pact members, I would think that a Gorkon installment is pretty much a shoe-in.

Plus, their current situations and whereabouts were already established in A Singular Destiny.
