Youtube does this stuff all the time, why is this even an issue. I knew it had nothing to do with CBS. Youtube's IP software is flawed, its that simple.

Thus far my only issue with the show was the simple bonk on the head causing the medical crises- I would have much preferred some strange alien weapon considering the context of the injury and it would also lend some credibility to McCoy's difficulty in treatment.

I agree with this, a lot. The sort of amorphous brain-malady seemed ill-conceived and honestly a bit confusing at times.

I'm not sure I buy the copyright algorithm as the issue even though I was the victim of such an incident myself. If it were simply a bot related issue, specifically related to the use of the Miramanee lodge scene as a background plate, then thousands of fan tribute and music videos which use footage directly lifted from the TV shows and movies would be getting pulled down as well.

This smells more of someone filing a copyright infringement claim through Youtube. It's a fairly easy process and Youtube is typically quick on the trigger to pull materials they get complaints on.... and if this wasn't a complaint from CBS....

YouTube is notorious for shutting things down arbitrarily and with little (if any) explanation why. This is the third time I've encountered something like this happening in the last year, and it's why I've slowly started migrating my videos (all six of them, lol) over to Vimeo.

The more important point however - STC will have their show back up on YouTube where people can see it.

I have to question Youtube's stability if a third party, maybe even an individual, can set off the flags to remove a video without some verification.


It sounds like Youtube's system is based on Guilty until proven Innocent.

There's been enough stories of unwarranted take-downs that I'm surprised there hasn't been a coordinated push to flag as many videos as possible and overwhelm the system in order to make them reexamine their removal policy.

On an unrelated note, I would like to thank the eagle-eyed (eared?) viewers who noticed the "seven years ago" error. That was totally my fault, and I take full responsibility. Obviously the Tycho IV events took place 13 years earlier, not 7. It was simply a brain fart. The error has since been corrected in the episode. Thanks guys!

The ADR work is well done. Luckily the mouth movement for "seven" can pass for "thirteen" fairly well.
