Star Trek Continues and Farragut Films part ways

I hope they continue doing something like Farragut Fest. It has become one of my family's favorite conventions.

... the doorway (which, as James Cawley has pointed out, is wrong and will be rebuilt).

Curious to know: do you know if they'll be doing any other adjustments to the sets? Some of the proportions are wrong in other places, such as the bridge overhead viewers.

YES!! Many adjustments / improvements.

Cool. Looking forward to it. Although, it's minor to the overall quality of the stories being told. But what can I say, I'm a story guy by profession.

Somebody here mentioned the wrinkles in the back of the Captain's chair, which I'd never noticed before but now I can't help seeing.

So will Isolation be a movie era show too with just the vignettes in the TOS era?

I can only speak of what has been released publicly, such as that Farpoint interview, but it seems to indicate the final TOS Farragut will somehow set the stage for the Farragut Forward/Isolation series. The Isolation prologue/preview (they call it a "prequel") was a one-shot, I'm not aware of any intention to do more TOS vignettes with Isolation.

What specifically is wrong about it? Any comparison pics available?

Their corridors, doorways and sets were built off-scale or to incorrect measurements.

IIRC, the doorway in question is both the wrong width and wrong height. But, as the corridor is not quite the correct width, fixing the doorway would make that more visible.

Actually the corridors, doorways and sets are scaled correctly; there are a few areas that have not yet been corrected from earlier productions. The existing transporter room door is too wide but I'm sure it will not be next time you see it in one of our productions.

Sorry about that. My bad. I noticed it right off and it always grabs my eye like a super strong magnet.

I wonder if Farragut going to build new TMP/ TWOK- style sets? Are there schematics and enough of the corridors, quarters and rooms that were shown to be able to reproduce them?

The scale is way off on the Quarter's set, it almost looks 3/4 scale. Sorry but, it's proportions are not correct. There are many more inaccuracy's with the sets, I am not trying to be a dick because I admire the work. But my eye is not off and the visual proof is out there.

Nope, Sorry All of your doorways are NOT tall enough. Look at screencaps from your production and compare them with TOS. your doorways are all too short. If I could post pics here for comparison I would.

Probably. Mike Bednar is a wizard at this stuff.

I imagine the greatest challenge would be those curved fiberglass walls.

I think I'm having lunch with John Broughton next weekend to discuss a movie we've been working on together; maybe I'll find out some specifics about their set-building plans.

Ah yes you are correct; the captains quarters is a little smaller than it should be but it's certainly NOT 3/4 scale. As far as the doors go, you are completely wrong; they are the exact size scaled from the original plans. If you would like to come measure them; you are welcome. We are committed to continue to make our sets as accurate as possible. There are things that need to be corrected and we know it; it will just take a little time.

Honestly, it seems pretty petty to point out our deficiencies when you have so many yourself. Because I respect ALL of the fan productions; I won't lower myself to point them out (but it does drive me crazy).

Best of Luck!

Best of luck to them on the Movie Era sets. I love the TMP through ST III bridges.

REALITY CHECK: 99.9% of potential audiences don't care if you have a wrinkle in the upholstery, or if your doorways are the right height. Its fine if y'all are obsessed about this level of accuracy, but it doesn't matter to almost anyone else. :)
