Star Trek comics on DVD

At present Amazon won't ship it to the UK - I'm trying to find out what the situation is and whether it will eventually be released over here.
I wonder if it's the nebulous "rights" issues; I'm given to understand that comic shops in the UK can't get the comics DVD, either.

Almost certainly that'll be the case, because of all the different people who reprinted the various strips over the years. If I get an answer via CBS, I'll post here.

Paul

That would be good, i might go down Forbidden Planet and see if they will import it.

Got my $10 refund on today after giving them a call. (pre-ordered my copy a month ago)

They rejected me the first time I emailed, but I wrote back, and whoever I was talking to said something to the effect of "I'm doing this AGAINST POLICY" and all that jazz... but I got my way. Bitching and moaning always does the trick ;)

I'm upset I haven't been able to dig into this DVD yet. Oddly enough, it crashes my computer sometimes. Anyone else have problems?

I was able to pick mine up today from the not so efficient post office. It's a very nice set.

I also found this on YouTube:

"Dinosaur Planet" (Part 1, Part 2)

I ordered it recently for my birthday. Will have to wait awhile to get it though.

I have a copy on the way, but I didn't order it until after the price had dropped. I actually ordered it for someone else, but if I get a chance to peruse it before sending it on, it may have to get "lost in transit."

Wait. Was that out loud?

I'm sure that person won't read the comment....

"Dammit, Jim, I'm a doctor, not an archeologist. I need to get back to the ship so that I can practice my love on my patients."

I've discovered one more omission from the DVD. It has most of the DC trade-paperback collections, with their celebrity introductions, but it's missing the TPB of The Modala Imperative, which had an introduction by Walter Koenig. Fortunately I still have that TPB, but I wonder why it was left out of the DVD.

Alright, so I got mine yesterday and zipped through the first three issues. Considering what information the writers had at the time of publication, I have to hand it to them for creating three engaging stories. Sure, killer plants is kinda Lost in Space-ish, but it's still good fun.

I'm having a great time seeing all the little inconsistencies between actual Trek and these early incarnations. Talking in tricorders, for instance. Makes me chuckle over dinner.

Is the dvd missing just the WK introduction or the whole trade?

Wow, I was going to pre-order this and then got caught up in work, family, house, authoring and life in general and totally forgot to. Glad I waited/forgot :)
Though I have all of the Gold Key and I am pretty good on other similar vintage comics, I am weak on some of the trade paper comics, the Malibu comics and other more recent stuff. So I am still excited to get this collection on DVD :techman:
Heading over to Amazon in a few to place an order...

I just received shipping notification on mine. :)

Being in Australia, last week I organised my Amazon copy to be sent to a penpal in Florida, who'll forward it to me with my next batch of ST action figures. I received an Amazon notification that it's on its way to him.

I pre-ordered with a Sydney-based comic shop six months ago, and they have definitely stocked previous releases by the company making this ST collection, but it sounds to me like this order won't get processed (due to the "not for export" line people noticed in the Diamond catalog). If I end up with two copies I'm sure I'll find a buyer for the spare.
