The first visualization of a saucer separation was conceptualized by Ralph McQuarrie, as he worked on the pre-production of the abandoned 1976-1977 Star Trek: Planet of the Titans project. It is a great reference.

what? china gets the movie next week too? oh come on now so unfair! *pouts*
any chinese fan here?![]()
It was established very early on that the budget wasn't lowered, meaning $190 million minimum..but as we were saying some of that is covered by Alibaba (who knows how much..$25 million??) and 49% of Paramount's money from filiming in Canada. There may also be some perks to filming in Dubai. So maybe Paramount is getting a $200 million film on the screen for $150-175 million...a bargain.
Nahh STB is going to be fine. Regardless of a disappointing US box office open, the Chinese market almost guarantees it really, especially if it comes anywhere close to doing as well as STiD did.Hopefully not a $200m budget as that would give STB a hard time breaking even, let alone make a profit.
Hee Hee.
No. It opens wide in Aust and China on July 21st.
Agreed. I've suddenly gone from "meh, I might check it out if it's good" to "these next two weeks are going to be very slow".I'm trying to avoid watching these because I would like to get more enjoyment out of the movie. Still, I think the marketing for this movie has been better than the last two Trek films. Really can't wait till the 21st now.
LOL the '7' tricked me! so only those lucky ones in australia who got the tickets for the special premiere will KNOW next week.
I think there are some countries that get it before the 21
and then there are those who went to the fan event and got a pass for the premierere in the usa that is on july 20
Deadline: "Star Trek Beyond’ Could Hit $60M Opening, According To Some Early Projections".
"Even if it ends up on the higher end of those estimates, Beyond would fall into the “good, not great” category in terms of box office performance".
"Star Trek Beyond shouldn’t be interpreted as a commercial bomb (yet)".
Why are expectations so low? I still consider that STB will be a good movie. I think the audience has shown an interest in seeing it. Are these projections reliable? Should I worry about this?
The 1st one, fans are 'not pleased' JJ is not directing STB.
