Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

There is now a 40 second actual clip on the Star Trek Facebook page (sorry, I'm not sure how to link to the video directly.)

https://www.facebook.com/StarTrekMovie/

Hopefully, this TOS like character moment should reassure fans who are worried that the movie is just fast and furious in space. Yes, there will be a lot of action and excitement but I think the movie will have a good amount of Star Trek type character moments too.

"A great captain knows sacrifice, Kirk". I remember in STIII, when Admiral Morrow does not give him back Enterprise, and explicitly orders him not to return to Genesis. I think we wiil see something similar.

I don't know. Kirk also mentions a rescue mission in the clip, which makes me believe they are ordered to look for survivors from the Franklin, however it got to where it is (and now having gotten back to that area of space after all those years).

The Franklin is the big mystery in the story to me. I think it's crucial the reason it's there is credible and it doesn't just "show up" as a convenient coincidence so they can get off the planet.

I found the line odd, actually. Given what he did in STID, Kirk should know sacrifice. Guess we'll need to see the entire scene to get the real meaning and context.

The scene looks to be early in movie - crew tired worn out Kirk questioning himself then star fleet big wig gives him a pep talk n reminds him why he joined n his responsibilities etc.

Gives him.new mission to Krall planet n rest of movie takes place
Kirk n crew fight for lives and are reminded along the way why they joined n why they wanted to be out in the final frontier

The shots of the Enterprise in the "Fly" spot look amazing. The sense of scale they seem to be accomplishing is great. One thing I found lacking in the last two films was beauty shots of the big E.

With all these new spots showing up over the last day or so, I was wondering if CBS was planing a big ad push over the holiday, but there's really nothing going on this weekend TV wise--except for a mundane golf tourney.

Jaylah looks like a great character. She looks tough and independent. I love that scene where she steals Kirk's chair. She has that air of confidence just like Kirk has. I can see her being great fodder for Kirk.
