Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

Yes, they are picky about when they want to release the trailer for distribution to the public. And the trailer itself is a copyrighted work.

Why it is forbidden to film the trailer there? My guess is that they will show a few minutes of the film, beyond the trailer.
I just posted that the original announcement said that they will be showing exclusive footage along with the trailer. The only thing we don't know is what form the "exclusive" footage will take, I'm thinking it's probably going to be either a clip, or behind the scenes footage.

It's easier to believe they would listen to the proven centuries-old classical, just as we do now, than the centuries-old music of such ephemeral nature as today's consumer music that quickly comes and goes for the next big hype and shiny. It seems too egocentric to assume our music will last as well as classical into the 23rd century. If our own fickle music tastes change, it will date the movie.
You do realize that if you were to sample any given 70 year period of "classical" music you'd find it to be just as varied as contemporary music, which, quite frankly, isn't nearly as varied as you seem to imply.

In fact, if one were to make a general venn of the four major genres over the last six or seven decades, he'd find a lot more overlap than not.

And it's impossible to say hot "timeless" contemporary music is or could be. But I would bet that if you checked most peoples' phones/ipods, you find libraries that had equal representation of everything from Billie Holiday to the Ronettes to the Beatles to the Ramones to Madonna to Swift.

Maybe? It's obviously not the one for any possible Ent-A that Kirk gets at the end of Beyond, it still has the old stardate on it, which would be a couple decades after Beyond IIRC. Unless they use it as an easter egg of course, which would be kind of cool.

TrekMovie is broadcasting now on Periscope from the event.

Pretty fancy setup they have there.

Ooh, there's Katee Sackhoff!
