I really, really hope for the sake of everyone upset about the Sabotage music that Paramount picks something else for this trailer.

If the trailer is going online why would they worry about it? I am hoping maybe that they are going to screen some actual footage or maybe it has something to do with the new show...........we will know in a few hours!
Good choice but I can't believe they haven't used Ch-Check It Out yet being as the first four lines are the coolest Trek shoutouts ever.

Im guessing it's a 10-20 minute excerpt(s) from the movie, not just a trailer.
There's an outside chance it might be a rough cut, but i doubt it.

I don't like Daft Punk. At all. So you can imagine my surprise when I was utterly blown away by what they did for the Tron movie. That was superb.
Glad to see you planned out the festivities.
The trailer is being released the same day, there's no reason to ban phones, therefore it is something else. Excerpts from movies have been shown before at fan events and cons, so I'm guessing that is the most likely scenario.
For STID they showed 10 minutes from the beginning of the movie to fans at a 3D preview shown at the beginning of the midnight IMAX showing of the Hobbit on December 14th., and of course, it was leaked online.

My other guess would be a sort of "private event", a meet-and-greet or party they don't want filmed with actors or creators. I'm guessing the excerpt is easier to do.

I like the new ones because they feel more TNG and the franklin jackets are smart. I think the only nuTrek variants I don't like are the red/grey dress/SA uniforms. Bit bland
I liked ST09 unis were updated n stayed classic only issue would be the black under shirt needed to be slightly higher to make black colar pop more
Dont like that they change out of ship duty uni every time they depart ship. No need unless going to cold planet (wear a jacket) or formal function. Best part of E being shot down the crew didn't have time to change LOL so wearing TOS unis on a planet away mission looks classic

Sad news. Seems appropriate to bring this up in this thread: John Berry, an original member of the Beastie Boys, died yesterday at 52. He was in hospice in Massachusetts.

I think thats why I like the dress uniforms. It's a suit. No need to go over the top into ceremonial gear when the real-world equivalent is just 'dress nice, please'
The new jacket uniforms are awesome. Love the Franklin uniforms too.
