If STB does better than 500 million Paramount will be pleased and angry folks on the Internet will find endless ways to torture that number into representing some kind of failure.
Hardcore fanboys and girls won't let go........... Or evolve.

I believe so because NX01 and NX02 had warp 5.0 and Archer said that there were ships, in construction, with Warp 6.0. So, based upon the fact that Gamma Quadrant is very far from Earth, I believe that is a contemporary of the NX-class.Probably a contemporary of the NX-class.
Pegg also confirmed that the new film won't follow the path set by Star Trek: The Search For Spock in continuing on from Star Trek Into Darkness. "There might be a little nod for fans perhaps, but it's certainly not something that the film depends on or has any relationship to the plot of the previous Star Trek III".

Im willing to bet there will be a quote.."turned death into a fighting chance to live.." or some such."A little nod" being the destruction of the Enterprise?
Yeah I don't mind stuff like that providing it's nice and subtle.Im willing to bet there will be a quote.."turned death into a fighting chance to live.." or some such.
So, Pegg could then build on it.
Like it or not, if there is anything connected to the past of the Federation or the formation of the Federation, the Enterprise series is in the Star Trek timelineI sincerely doubt they'd use such an obscure backstory. Talk about complex fan theories! I also hope there's no connection between the Franklin and NX vessels. Please, no references to the worst series (and death-knell of the franchise) in the 50th anniversary tribute.
Yeah, if you were xenophobic towards alien races. It was a perfect series!Enterprise was great you heathens![]()
It's worth noting that we have seen a number of NX vessels in previous Trek iterations:One of the questions he asked them was apparently '‘What kind of weapons does an NX vessel carry?’
I guess USS Franklin is more or less an NX vessel.
Thanks for link. Most interesting remark on Beyond is "There’s a retro kind of vibe to it". Hope for TOS fans? And with Fuller wanting a bolder and brighter Trek, we may be returning to those golden days of groovy threads and far-out vibes!http://www.ew.com/article/2016/04/18/star-trek-3-zachary-quinto-justin-lin-jj-abrams
EW article. Comparing Lin and JJ
As much as I love Simon Pegg, I really have trouble believing pretty much anyone about any aspect of a Star Trek movie thanks to Abrams. At least in regards to comments like that.interesting comment regarding TSFS:
Yeah, if you were xenophobic towards alien races. It was a perfect series!
Oh, that's just Jeyl tossing out a peevish remark which really doesn't merit an answer. Don't worry about it.Say what?
