Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

Whow, incredible how fast I can loose interest in a movie. The trailer doesn´t do anything for me.

Questions concerning the trailer...

at 0:24 Is that wreckage of the Enterprise's saucer?
at 0:27 Is that a Photon Torpedo Scotty jumps out off?
0:43 Is that Chekov on the motorbike?
0:58 Idris Elba?
0:59 which yellow shirt is that? Sulu, kirk?

The trailer indeed makes it look like the Enterprise gets absolutely shredded and crash lands on the planet as it shows us what appears to be the Enterprise getting its butt kicked by the Swarm and the saucer crashed on the planet. We even see Kirk get out of what looks like an escape pod and Starfleet personel being taken away as prisoners.

Maybe it is a sister ship to the enterprise that gets destroyed by the Swarm? If they destroy the Enterprise, that would certainly be a bold move.

1. Yes ist is. Moments before that sequence you can see Kirk leaving the bridge via life boat. The damaged bridge is clearly visible through its window. The saucer is also shown from inside Kirks life boat.
2. Seems like there are smaller life boats that are based on the Photon Torpedo design.
3. No, its Kirk. you can clearly see the googles hes wearing later in the scene with Sofia Boutella. Also check his hair, its Kirk´s hairdo.
4. Don´t know.
5.Looks like Kirk. The guy sent flying has brown hair, Sulu´s is black.

Well it's certainly different to the marketing that we've seen in previous films. And I sorta like it. Though you can tell that Paramount took to heart that previous edict to make the films seem more like Guardians of the Galaxy. The tone of this trailer (and just the trailer, perhaps not the actual movie), seem to indicate they have gone in that direction.

Though honestly, if you remove the Beastie Boys, the general plot of this seems JUST like a TOS episode. It doesn't seem to have the general darkness and skepticism that people didn't seem to like about Into Darkness (not I minded).

Don't get me wrong, this is Day 1 for me ... But I was expecting for more. But lately the second trailer of every movie I saw was better (Star Wars, Age of Ultron, Interstellar etc) so I keep my hopes up

I'm afraid it is the Big E. at 0:17 you see Kirk's face mirroring in the window of the escape pod while he launches off the destructed ship. But who knows what kind of time-travel device they will use to get her back.

Hey, thanks for those answers! You clearly have high-speed, high-resolution internet and some eagle eyes!

I'm going to wait until the English version comes out to pass judgement.

Trailer obviously had a shit load of action, but it's a teaser playing before Star Wars, what did you think it was going to look like? Kirk, Spock and McCoy talking about issues in the world today and how great humanity can be ?

I like the premise, it feels a lot like a TOS episode. Getting trapped on an unknown alien planet and having to fight against captivity, that's classic Star Trek.

My main problem with the last two Trek films was the writing. We have yet to see if that will be a problem in this one too.

People who are already counting this film out as just another Into Darkness are not giving it enough of a chance, and never were. This feels a lot more like classic Trek with the Spock/McCoy banter, Kirk with alien girl, and it's not a largely Earth-centric film like the other two.

I'm excited to get another look at this. I think Pegg really meant it when he mentioned they were continuing the spirit of the TV show. It looks like a fun movie. I just hope it's more thoughtful and topical than the J. J. films.

Exactly. Without the music, it feels like someone re-made a TOS episode with modern effects.

Let's not hope it's TOO much like a TV episode. We already know how those usually turn out :p

My two cents...

If the bureaucratic mentality really is the only constant in the universe, judging from the fact that
Kirk loses his ship after nearly losing it in the last movie and every other mission we've witnessed so far
he'll certainly captain a freighter in Trek XIV.

I'm hoping Star Trek Beyond is a film that grabs hold of its audience and doesn't let go for two hours. The first trailer is a good sign.

When you're constantly outgunned, odds are it will eventually catch up to you.
