I agree. They may want to contrast with SW by emphasising the human exploration angle. But of course there will be an explosion at the end.

It was not. "Clones" came out in May 2002 and the first Nemesis trailer was out the next month. In fact it debuted on "Entertainment Tonight."

I'm having a knee jerk reaction reading that, and feeling negative. It's not a mystery that I loved the first two movies and I'm worried that a new creative team could ruin everything I liked in them and make a movie that doesn't respect the story and the dynamics between the characters so far.
My only hope was that at least with some people from the first creative team still involved as producers, they could have some sort of control...but JJ was busy with star wars and Orci is a producer only in name here.
Not even the comics have any connection to the movies anymore, unless Pegg decides to help Johnson now.
