It's a lot better than "Into Darkness." I mean, that title didn't even make sense and sounded just like throwing in the buzzword "dark" to make it edgy and cool. I guess in retrospect that does sum up the movie though. 
Beyond sounds like it could apply if they are indeed going beyond known space. I think it's kind of intriguing.

I don't know. If "beyond" is intriguing, I don't know why "into darkness" wasn't. It implied the possibility of bad times ahead. And they were. In other words, "into darkness" was far more evocative than "beyond" is.
It seems these new titles play on the verb interpretation of 'trek' (Trek into Darkness, Trek Beyond). But yeah, the latter sounds like it's missing something. Maybe they should go with "Beyond Darkness", or alternatively pull all the STiD Blurays and reissue them as "Star Trek Into".

I like the title. It's better than Into Darkness. Star Trek Beyond is simple and to the point.

I actually have a series (non-trek) idea that was called 'Boldly Beyond...', even got the domain name a while back. Last month, I thought of possibly doing a fan production called 'Star Trek: Boldly Beyond'

Studios like simple titles these days. Look at the DreamWorks adaptation of the book The True Meaning of Smekday, which ended up being called... Home. (Which, by the way, was tied for second on a recent list of the most overused story titles, at least among submissions to Clarkesworld magazine.)
Finally the five year mission is happening!

Oh, worrying about that nonsense is like worrying about whether kids will make fun of another kid's name. As Penn Jillette has pointed out, most boys who hate their names have names like "Dave."
The best review I can recall riffing off of a movie's name was, in it's entirety:
"'Star Trek: The Motion Picture' - Frankly, that's giving it the benefit of the doubt."

Star Trek Beyond sounds good to me.
You weren't the only one. I did one called "Star Trek: Beyond" back when I was in high school (written on an electric typewriter).
So naturally I like the title for the new movie.
Star Trek Fu? I'm good with that. nuKirk Fu will probably be even better than the old.
As for this title? Bleah. Couldn't they have used To Boldly Go? At least that sounds Trekkian. And doesn't beg the question ("Beyond what?").
I am not sure how I feel about this. Not excited, for sure, but neither do I hate it. I am apathetic, I suppose. Star Trek reminds me of Microsoft when it comes to uninspired titles. The TV series' get it best when they crib from Shakespeare, the Bible, or Latin.
I prefer it when a film's title has something to do with the story. I always wished Star Trek: The Motion Picture had a more specific title (and in fact I thought of calling it "In His Image" even before I learned that it had been based on a pilot treatment called "In Thy Image"). And you can imagine I'm not too happy about calling a film just Star Trek and nothing else. I don't even like it when pilot episodes are just called "Pilot." I'm glad all the Trek pilots have their own meaningful story titles.
I like how chapter-ish the titles of the Genesis trilogy are: the first installment relates the wrath of Khan, the next details the search for Spock, and the final one depicts the voyage home. They're all exactly what they say on the tin.
