Spoilers STAR TREK BEYOND

I'm not saying it's true, but there is a rumor that the movie may be delayed. The change of date in Brazil (from July to September) was something strange because everyone knew about Olympics. There is no reason to move to September. July is the school holiday period in Brazil. I do not know if there was a change on other dates. I heard a rumor that Lin would be dissatisfied with the production of sound. Would it be reason to delay? Others have said that Paramount did not like the movie. I think that only after the 20th is that we will know what will happen. Conspiracy theory?

Seems odd they would go and set up a fan event if they didn't like the film. I guess it's possible it could be delayed due to technical issues, but Paramount has already booked a ton of theaters for July 22nd and it seems awfully late in the game to change it now.

I have just learned that it seems that the film will be delayed to September 9th in the USA with pre-opening in 8th (ST Birthday) ............. but I can not confirm that this time. I have been told that the TrekCore is looking for their sources.
Can anyone verify?

I wonder how a date shift would effect the new TV series, with a supposed mandatory six month window between film and TV releases?

I have no info, one way or the other, but that choice of release date would be an interesting one - in line with the anniversary of the Original Series, but is it the usual day of the week for a movie opening?

September 9th is a Friday.

I would be disappointed if it is delayed. Paramount can't seem to get out of their own way where Star Trek is concerned. They've made a couple of really good movies (in my opinion), but allowed too much time to pass between Star Trek (2009) and Into Darkness, made a mess of the advertising of Into Darkness and are now stumbling badly with Beyond. With Beyond, we are on our second creative team and, if true, our third release date.

Someone told me that specialized sites to promote the premieres in the USA are struggling to have details about the STB premieres, and if the film actually debut in July this information should already be available.
All this may just be a misunderstanding, but it's getting weird.

Given that it lines up with the anniversary date, how late it is in the game, and that there doesn't seem to be any real source for it, I'm going to with rumor for now. I guess it could happen, we'll probably know more after the 20th either way.

Of course that it is a rumor, but my source knows TrekCore staff. I will keep my fingers crossed for that it is a misunderstanding.

just got kicked off a pro-Abrams board for reporting this possibility. Me? Of all people. :guffaw:

It's possible the trailer will be in front of TMNT movie.

Make that definitely. After the Fan event on May 20th, the 2nd trailer should be available online for a start.

And TMNT is Paramount's only major release before STB I think so, yes, the 2nd trailer will be attached!
