I agree the effects are excellent BUT the one - literally, the one - shot that always bothered me was the explosion of the Borg cube. The model just kinda fades out as its enveloped by sparks and other bits and pieces. Oh well.

I seem to remember E! doing something for First Contact similar to this. It was on some sort of weekly movie show they had on in the 90s. I cannot remember (or find for that matter) the name of it. Something like Reel Time. It was about 30 minutes long. After watching this HBO special (never knew this existed!), the show I am thinking of is much different. Anyone remember THAT? Long shot, I know. But google and other sites I have been searching are turning up nothing.
