Even Shatner played this game. They'll come to terms. At the very least with Pine.

But if it does all fall through, without Pine, I'm not interested, He finally got Kirk just right. Recasting the part again won't work for me.

Totally agree. It's pine or the film doesn't happen in my view.

I know other franchises have the occasional recast but if they did it here it would just feel.. disjointed.

I don't think the character of kirk would take many recastings. As much as I love kirk in both incarnations, he's not exactly a deep, complicated character where many sides to him haven't already been portrayed.

If they recast for ST4, the replacement would have to knock it out of the park, but what would that actually entail?
