TOS was both progressive, for the time, and extremely sexist by our standards.
Now if women must wear less under the belt and revealing tops, men shoud wear equally less above the belt and equally revealing pants.
And I want ass shots. I want to see a man's thighs in relatively tight pants as he walks away. Sometimes I want to see the flesh on them slightly tremble at each firm step. And I want to see some pecs, if only above the low collar of an undershirt (collarbone is already better than nothing) and some bare, possibly muscular arms. There. That's an improved Star Trek for this woman.
To me the best woman's outfit is flexible boots, thick tights and a not-too-tight short skirt, with a tight stretch top without a too high collar. It's really the warmest and most comfortable in all circumstances while remaining sexy. Tested and approved.
I pretty much agree with you on the men. Although I once preferred Bashir's scrawny ass to Damar's. That was before Damar got around, I guess. (By the way, Siddig looks so much better now, as in '24', whith the beard.)
And everybody from Enterprise can keep their pants on. Travis is cute, but too insignificant.
ST needs some new male blood anyway.

Those aren't the hunks I'd be choosing anyway. Spock was always way hotter than Kirk, Riker was too much of a fat-ass blowhard to qualify for hunk status (nobody on TNG makes the grade really), and Bashir's scrawny ass would get the boot in favor of Damar. And let's not overlook the enduring slash appeal of Chak & Paris, or the inimitable Trip Tucker, even if he does have poor taste in women, going in for the crack-ho skinny Vulcan type.
Ah, it's nice to be someplace where I can say that and not immediately get attacked by T/T'P shippers.

That works for me. It's not whorish and it reveals just enough to let the male imagination do what it does.
