does anyone know of any sites where people have modded or customized a
action figures well? particularly Star Trek ones..

A poster over in the Art forum here on the bbs posted some customised Trek figures a while back. They'd made figures from A Piece of the Action. Perhaps if you ask over there they can post them again. I remember them because they were really good.
