Star Trek - $6.51 million on Tuesday

Re: Star Trek - $6.45 million on Tuesday

Disappointing Tuesday numbers to say the least. I was expecting at most a 7-8% hit. Not good at all.

Stop you have no Idea how movies in theaters work It was going to be at least a 12 percent drop because we are heading into mid week when PEOPLE WORK THE MOST... Thank you.

Not true. Most movies see an increase on Tuesdays. These are the Monday to Tuesday percentage changes for the Top 10:

Trek: -13.3%
Wolverine: -4.1%
GoGP: +11%
Obsessed: -0.5%
Soloist: +7%
NextDayAir: -16.5%
Earth +26.4%
17 Again +14.8%
MvsA +3.2%
Fighting -0.3%

So by pure numbers, Star Trek had the second worst change in the Top 10.

But higher than expected numbers on Monday.

I think IMAX theaters will be packed this weekend again...

BTW, would a 42 million weekend be considered good? Hope it does more than that.

That would be a 44% drop, which would be fantastic. Most big movies drop anywhere from upper 40% to upper 60%.

Re: Star Trek - $6.45 million on Tuesday

$42 million would be a 44% drop-off from the opening weekend's FSS total, which is definitely good. That'd put us around $150 million domestic after 10 days. $45 million would be a 40% drop-off, which is probably the best case scenario. I think we'll see between $40 and $45 million.

As a Mexican-American, I find that to be extremely offensive.

None intended. And whatever you do, do not listen to Don Rickles classic routines...
Casual racism is sometimes the most offensive.

"Ay chihuahua!" is a slang exclamation in Spanish, the language spoken in Mexico. It is as racist as saying "Hasta la vista" or "Dios mio!" In other words, not at all.

I would expect $30-35 Million from this weekend. Anything more and its got good legs and might actually hit $200, anything less and it might die off fast.

We all blew our cash and time over the weekend.

...and I'm sure some of Us had enough time left over to Blow Other Thing's..., as well...

Great News about the continued rising of the total take...

One Hundered Million Plus..., Here We Cum...!!! :techman:

And there you have it.

T'Paul, for someone who openly trolls mods with every SINGLE post you make on this board, you are WAY too touchy.

Please knock off this perpetual victim shit, like immediately, or risk a warning for trolling.

Thanks.

Re: Star Trek - $6.45 million on Tuesday

To me it was something like "Ach do Lieber!" would've been in German, or "Mama Mia!" in Italian, just to reiterate.

Anyone think the audience for H&D skews old? I think there will be room for both movies for another big weekend, especially if IMAX advertises "final week"...

i wont be happy till it tops 300 mil domestically and internationally and a sequel is announced!
