Many happy returns to Star Trek, which celebrates it's ruby anniversary on September 8th.
Some say life begins at 40 and I certainly hope that proves true for my favourite TV/Film series.

In honour of this event, I put together a tribute video which spans the whole history of Trekuniverse set to my favourite piece of music.

You can watch it here:

or download (file size 57.8 MB) from:

Hope you enjoy.

Excellent!
That was soooooooooooo great!

Loved how the shots of Enterprise-D and Voyager over DS9 linked the montages together, and all the crossovers were really neat too

Beautiful work

That was good...could have been better with more Star Trek themed music though. And not to nitpick but there was way too much Enterprise (the show) and not nearly enough time given to TOS & the TOS movies. How shortchanged they got in this 40th celebration montage just sits really wrong with me to the point where I'm thinking of making my own to counterbalance.

I came across this video yesterday, after watching the reeeal vs. faaaake clip linked to over in DS9.

This is a beautiful video. The music and imagery are perfect, and the scenes are flawlessly timed to the music. For once there's no discernible bias for/against any series or movie. For those of us who simply like Trek in all its guises, that's a very refreshing change of pace. Kudos!

Well I did an exclusively TOS one here, hopefully that makes it feel more balanced,

That's a fair point. Although it did open and close with TOS references plus they had the lion's share of the crossover montage near the end, so I at least tried to balance it out. As a celebration of the whole 40 years, perhaps it better reflected the screentime for each incarnation rather than actual popularity. With most TV documentaries like 'How William Shatner Changed the World', the emphasis is usually 75% TOS, 22% TNG, leaving 3% for DS9, VOY & ENT combined, which I feel generally does a disservice to those fans.

There should be a free option from here:

Very well done-almost made me tear up. The music from Inner Light reminds me so much of "Hobbit-music."

It takes a LOT for me to gush, but that was just one terrific piece of editing. Puts the entire franchise into a cohesive whole instead "six different series."

The only person I missed was David, but Kruge's presence kind of brought him into it.

Thanks for a great job!
