Total wish fulfilment here: I just read that Eaglemoss is releasing an XL version of the 2009 1701 - from recent solicitations - and it gave me hope that there’s still more Kelvinverse media in the works (hence why EM are releasing the larger scale 09 Enterprise).

Initially when I read this announcement, I jumped to a conclusion that they were releasing the Ent-A (seen at the end of Bey)...

Glutton-for-punishment, I am! ;)

Oohh...nice.

I think they're building new models for the '09 fleet because the original files were lost or something, so we're at least getting those ships down the line as bonus ships.

Where can we find the info about an XL release of the '09 Enterprise? And can they please please please release an Ent-A! I'd love to see the Ryan Church concept as a release as well.

Ooer! I’d also love to see more Kelvinverse goodness in the EM line! I’d be over the moon if EM did a Bey Ent-A!!!!

Aside from the new crew confirmation, Here are the takeaways, as there is actually some new info here:

1) The Hawley film was actually further along than we thought, with concept art being produced.
2) The Hawley film is on hold, but not over, mainly due to the untimely nature of its story.
3) The ST4 film with Pine and Hemsworth appears to be the frontrunner for the next Star Trek film.

Previous reporting has stated that Paramount’s Watts has made Star Trek a priority at the studio. According to today’s Variety, the series of false starts for a new Trek feature film in the last few years is a “source of embarrassment” for the studio while corporate sibling CBS “has, under executive producer Alex Kurtzman, established a bona fide universe of series on the television front.”

There has been no lack of effort to getting a new movie made, but a series of hurdles has really hamstrung them.

Concept art being made doesn't really imply any significant degree of progress. You could develop concepts from a story outline or a script treatment even without a full first draft.

Considering no one knew it was beyond the script stage at all, its quite a surprise.

Money has been spent on the Hemsworth, Tarantino and Hawley Trek projects, which will all be rolled into the budget for the eventual next Trek movie which means it'll have an even more difficult battle than it's already facing.

Sounds like Hawley's "new crew" idea gave the studio cold feet and they're going with the safer Hemsworth/Pine bet.

Okay, This is just making the budget for the next movie explode, all the costs for scripts, writers, concept artists etc. for all 3 are being spent. Just like Superman Returns, all the false starts and stuff gets rolled in to the eventual movie, bloating it, and it'll never make enough money to get a 2nd movie.

Yeah, like most, I would really like to see this. No Kirk, no Picard... perfect, I don't want to see them anymore anyway, show me something new.

I do wonder, if this gets made, would it still be a Kelvin Universe movie? That would seem kind of weird now at this point, what with Paramount+ and everything.

I would think they'd want to tie the movies and TV shows together again. And just have this Noah Hawley movie set after Picard, and backdoor a TV pilot in somewhere in the film and go forward.

And I don't think a non-Kirk or non-Picard Star Trek movie would be a risk or a hard sell. That's probably because that's what I actually want to see, but I don't know, an interesting story is an interesting story. And a new crew of course has it's own challenges from a promotional standpoint, but also presents a great opportunity. And I'd say you'll get way more buzz with a new crew as opposed to bringing back the old crew.
