Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

I wonder if Star Trek will reach US$300 million.

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

Wow, it has to get just over $200,000 to beat Wolverine only in its second week. Amazing!

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

How much from the Canadian holiday could've boost these numbers for both Trek and A&D for Monday 18th - by about $1 million or so...?

This is how I think the rest of weekdays will play out for Trek.

Mon 4.6
Tues - 3.2
Wed - 3.0
Thur - 3.1
Fri - 6.5

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

These are like Wolverine 1st week numbers... excellent!... 15 million during the week (although Thursday will be tough against T4 debut) is great, add the extra day over the weekend and school's out and the box office should hang one for a while longer...

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

yep! :D

and I'm taking a gazillion people! probably a whole row will be occupied in the IMAX theatre we're going to. ;)

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

yeah! It could be at $164 million by the weekend!!!

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

Great numbers. It has right now better legs than Iron Man.

You'll deserve a special commendation from Dr. Dre by the time this is all over, that's for sure... ;)

Wow...

MvRojo, these are estimates, right?

Probably something like that....maybe a little less. You can estimate it, given the Canadian box office numbers from the last two weeks, given here:

http://www.tribute.ca/movies/BoxOffice.asp?id=15117

Star Trek only dropped about 24.5% off its opening weekend in Canada, because of the holiday. You could assume that it would have otherwise dropped the same %age as in the USA, and work out the number.

Re: Star Trek - $4.6 million Monday (5/18) - $152 million

As of right now it needs just under $40 million to beat Monsters Vs. Aliens as the #1 movie of the year.

it's not just Trek though. I tend to watch movies that I love a gazillion times. no Trek movie has yet beaten my record for Pulp Fiction yet -- I saw that 64 times :p :techman:
