I was randomly looking up Chris Pine and see if any information about the status on the 14th Star Trek film is on the IMDB. The next movie after "Star Trek Beyond" If its being written, director chosen, any cast members signed up. There was a teaser video there with a synthesized computer voice with text over a star field background. This video link pops up intermittently meaning its not there all the time on the IMDB. It started with "A top secret computer", asking the captain "What are your orders." ends with "Who commands 1701?" The episode "The Ultimate Computer" almost instantly popped into my mind. Thinking about this with the concept of cybernetic computer technology becoming an enemy to humans being a common theme in modern Science Fiction, it would make sense these Star Trek producers look back at that original episode and port into a movie size plot and story. With modern special effects and big budgets, someone could do the M5 controlling the Enterprise and battling Star Fleet.
This concept of Artificial Intelligence vs Mankind been a common theme such as Skynet in the Terminator movies. The Cylons in the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica. Also have "I Robot", the list goes on. Star Trek also has "The Borg", but many of us prefer that be reserved and remain with "The Next Generation" era / 24th Century.
