Star Trek: 2017 What if...

With what we currently know about Star Trek 2017 and reading through the numerous threads here on the forums, I've been doing some far-fetched what if speculating and thought I'd post some for the fun of it.

What if...
The first 13 episode, serialized story, multiple crew style season is actually the groundwork for a 2017-2018 multi-series expanded Star Trek universe by CBS.
Let's say that with a 13 episode series, they decide to introduce us to five different ships (or whatever the setting may be) and crews (or staff, personal, groups, etc as the case may be). The 13 episodes could be broken down to the two hour premiere, then five one hour episodes visiting each of the ships and crews (or whatever the case may be), then a second round of five one hour episodes revisiting each, and then a two part finale episode bringing them all together and sending them off again. each with their own full season series in 2017-2018.

What if...
The same scenario as above with the difference being that the first season is a test to see which setting and cast are the best received by viewers to decide which one (or ones) will make the leap to a dedicated series in 2017-2018.

What if...
The single story multi-crew aspect of season one is to introduce something in early Trek history that grows as we progress through the established timeline to finally culminate in the season one finale to launch us into a season two set post Voyager.

Like I said, this is all just far-fetched what if speculation for the fun of it. Care to share yours?

That may be and I just missed it. If so, then that wipes out these.

Edit: You are right, he stated it's not an anthology series. But these still stand as possibilities since he did say we'll be seeing lots of crews. Will edit the original post.

Sounds too complicated for what its worth. I think it'd be easier to just stick with the multiple crews throughout the show and watch them develop rather than splintering off into five different shows on at the same time.

You haven't listened to CBS CEO Les Moonves. Star Trek is the crown jewel of CBS. They want CBSAA to succeed. This guarantees subscriptions just like The Howard Stern Show did on Sirius XM Satellite Radio in 2006. That is a good example of how Star Trek will work on CBSAA. Exclusivity is a powerful tool that CBS will use.
I highly doubt public outcry would bring Star Trek to broadcast CBS network in 2018.

I have listened, but I don't think you read what I wrote (or read too much into it). I never once mentioned a scenario where the shows left CBS All Access.

That's debatable, given that CBS also has The Big Bang Theory, the often top-rated NCIS franchise, and various others that made it the #1 network without a new Trek series for over a decade. Star Trek is definitely one of CBS' more well-known and licensable properties, though.

Whatever you just typed out sounds incredibly complicated. Wouldn't be surprised if a companion series was announced in two or three years if things go well.
