Star Trek 2009 Film

GulGoneCrazy

Lieutenant
Red Shirt
OK i finally watched that film! And my impressions are  and more .First i was little disappointed when i saw that theme is way back in the past.(Damn it i wanna see whats happens after ST nemesis)Basically i think the movie is great, with the effects, actors seemed to played their difficult roles well..And seeing Leonard Simon Nimoy acting again was great!Theme is not bad anyway but confusing...

Anyway i first got confused when i saw a Romulan vessel Narada looking like sea urchin. It looks to way different from any romulan vessels encountered before, and it's weaponry is very strong for mining ship no matter how old ships Narada fought. So where the hell that ship came from?

Than the romulans are looking totally different ,like tatooed latino gangsters ...i mean why they suddenly changed their style??

And are Romulus and Vulcan really destroyed for ever?

Whole forum for this particular film next door.

Romulus is only gone in the Prime timeline, Vulcan in the new timeline.

The only place you're likely to see "what happened next" after DS9, Voyager, Next Gen (and the Next Gen movies) ended is in the ongoing novel series. The "present" of the novels is 5 years after Nemesis.

It's a Romulan mining ship. Up until now we've only ever seen Romulan military vessels.

These are a band of Romulan miners, not the uniformed soldiers we usually see.
The "Countdown" prequel comic suggests they shaved their heads and tattoed their faces in an ancient Romulan mourning ritual after their world was destroyed.

Romulus is destroyed in a supernova in 2387-Prime. But thats only going to matter in the novels. It's still there in ST 2009's alternate reality.
Vulcan's been destroyed in the alternate reality. It's destruction will no doubt have consequences in the next movie.

The street I live on is full of them, and Romulans in NuTrek look nothing like the homie chumps who live on my block.

Plus the significance and purpose are totally unrelated:

Romulans = Crazy-cool looking patterns based on eternal pain and loss.

Homies = old English writing for "Junior" or "Little Puppet" + the Virgin Mary, or three dots on the hand or near the eyes and possibly a little tear tat - all of which are meant to represent a mentality that a turf war over neighborhood streets and drug distribution (while living at home with mama and having tons of kids out of wedlock) is la ultima vida.

Sorry, no.
