Star Trek 2 Villain Revealed?

It's Cumberbatch with a b.

Co-writer Bob Orci has mentioned having read and enjoyed Greg Cox's Eugenics Wars books. So any changes made to Khan's backstory (if it does turn out to be Khan) are, at least, informed ones.

I certainly hope that Kahn is not the villain being played by cumberpatch or to have been played by del toro. Neither one of them are Indian.

And neither was Ricardo Montalbán.

And having read the eugenics wars & to rule in hell, I would be pissed if Kahn was altered in that way.

1% of the viewing audience read Star Trek novels.

True on montalban. I think del toro could have pulled it off & maybe cumberbatch could too. The point I apparently failed to make is that regardless who plays him, the character is Indian & regardless of what percent of fans know this, the fact remains. I also heard someone say something about a weather control device which reminds me of morning star. I still think Kahn is in the mix but not in a way we would immediately imagine. I Have a hard time believing Gary Mitchell is the villain. But Peter weller bears an odd resemblance to another Gary from star trek.

Well, Khan was the product of a selective breeding and genetic engineering program. He wasn't exactly really Indian. Who knows what the scientists put in the mixer. Maybe there was a pinch of Englishman too. :p

Right. It could be Kahn. My gut tells me it's not though. But who knows. It's fun to speculate.
If the filmakers really wanted to do a Kahn story that is not obvious, the eugenics wars would be a great story.
Some pieces o the puzzle make me think that this may be the story. But there would have to be an explanation for why some things appear different than what is in the novels. And I realize that as small percentage of people have read them but thy could easily satisfy the novel fans & tell a great story that deviates from it.
Like what if Peter weller IS Gary seven & somehow the enterprise goes back in time & alters it's own already Altered timeline thus changing the way the eugenics wars play out? I'm just brainstorming & having fun doing it. I'm sure none of this will be the reality:)

I agree. But I was thinking it would be cool if maybe the consequences of nero's actions reached much farther & that that theme continued as a backdrop for the rest of the films. Think of all the things all those dead vulcans never did. What effect would that have on the future. What if the future is affected in such a way that moves up Gary seven's timetable &/or strategy for dealing with Kahn? Maybe we get some sort of combination of The Eugenics Wars, assignment: earth & assignment: eternity. That woe be awesome! Just brainstorming!

I'd like thew borg to be in one of the new trek films, I'd enjoy comparinghow Kirk deals with them to how Pichard does.

I'd like to see what the Borg could look like in a big budget movie. Instead of external rubber costumes and face paint, using CG to replace body parts with moving machinery. They could look really scary and awesome.

They should do what Zack Snyder did to zombies. The new Borg have to be fast and i would not mind them using small squad tactics either. They already did that in Descent.

^In 1996 with a budget of $46 million. Which pretty much just upped the detail on the Borg designs from The Next Generation. I imagine 2012 Borg with a $150 million budget would be a bajillion times more awesome.
