Wow, that article almost reads like they're suggesting a crew of cadets with little experience might be lacking in certain areas. I could have told you that last movie before they put a 3rd year cadet in the captain's chair.
 
I hope there are scenes of a young Kirk struggling with command and starting to over come it. That would be good character growth.
 
Khan can't be a good, original story? What if the Klingons found him this time, shortly after the Kelvin was destroyed? Meeting a Khan who's been among Klingons for the past 30 years would be very different to what we saw in "Space Seed" and "Wrath of Khan" - same character, but with different motivations and goals.


About Kirk - I didn't doubt Kirk's uber-promotion would be part of the second movie. I fully expect Captain Peter Weller, once inevitably irked by Kirk, to call him "Cadet!"
 
Oh, I thought this was going to be the title for the next film. I rather thought "false assumptions" was a good one.
