as a hobby project, I am working on an automation program for Star Fleet Battles. When fully developed, program will speed up gameplay by automating impulse tracking and damage. It will also fully track game state, allowing large games to be suspended due to time, allowing remote play with duplicated hex maps, and allowing “rollback” to try differing strategic abs tactical choices. Might even develop a campaign mode that would allow large scale strategic gaming, including logistics, fleet maintenance and deployment alternatives, and meta-strategic gameplay.
