I was always under the impression that the “Drell” nomenclature was in reference to its engine nacelle type. Not sure where I got that idea though.

I was always under the impression that the “Drell” nomenclature was in reference to its engine nacelle type. Not sure where I got that idea though.

For what it'swrth, the "Drell-4" is actually listed under "MODEL", it states "Battle Cruiser" for "TYPE" and "Star Cruiser" for "CLASS".

The equivalents for Enterprise on the TMP blueprints are MK-IX-A / Heavy Cruiser / Starship II for MODEL/TYPE/CLASS, which I find a little interesting since I'm pretty sure the "MK-IX" and "Heavy Cruiser" both originated with the FJ Tech manual, yet Kimble went with Starship II Class instead of Constitution.
