Spoilers ST Strange New Worlds - Starships and Technology Season Three Discussion

I was always under the impression that the “Drell” nomenclature was in reference to its engine nacelle type. Not sure where I got that idea though.
For what it'swrth, the "Drell-4" is actually listed under "MODEL", it states "Battle Cruiser" for "TYPE" and "Star Cruiser" for "CLASS".

The equivalents for Enterprise on the TMP blueprints are MK-IX-A / Heavy Cruiser / Starship II for MODEL/TYPE/CLASS, which I find a little interesting since I'm pretty sure the "MK-IX" and "Heavy Cruiser" both originated with the FJ Tech manual, yet Kimble went with Starship II Class instead of Constitution.

I disagree.

Just making reference to inhabited worlds in
the Polaris system
...

And putting twelve worlds there tells me there's supposed to be a network of routes between there and the old core systems of the Federation.

20-1... I wonder if that's some kind of in-joke hidden meaning or it's just random numbers.

Either way they should have padded one of the numbers with a leading zero just to piss off the Prime Universe gatekeeper nerds out there.

I noticed how all the Communicators got jammed once they were in range of the Alien of the Week vessel.

This is why you have backup hardline communications on board a vessel, but that's something that seems to have been installed later on in future StarShips.

A basic hard lesson that IRL Navies have learned before.

That's a very hard lesson to learn in terms of design, to not be completely dependent on the new fancy shiny tech, but to work with "Old faithful".

Depending on WiFi for everything isn't always a good idea.
