ST Encarta

I just found this forum by watching Encarta Dark Hope on YouTube, I've gotta say that was a well put together movie. Not what I would have expected from a bunch of kids. The effects were awesome. I was left a little disturbed with what the Captain did to his senior staff, but I guess he made his amends at the end. What do you imagine Starfleet did with them once they returned to the Alpha Quadrant? Do you think they fixed the ship, disciplined Lynch? When will the next one be released, it looks like there was a couple of years between each film? Is there a website? Couldn't find anything other than this forum.

What do you think happened to Encarta when it returned to the normal space?

That's a question for the writer/producer/star. You might want to PM him and ask. He is the fellow using his own photo in the prior Encarta thread.

Here's what Picard Alpha said in the previous thread about the possible later Encarta:

>>Unfortunately I can't ignore many of the repercussions of Encarta IV. If there was to be a fifth film it would certainly take place several years later. However I believe Jon Lynch would either be serving time on a detention colony or shipping freight between a couple of moons. Given option 2's scenario I'd assume that once Encarta entered normal space the crew would have decided to remain very much a 'family' and put the past behind them. Encarta and some of the allied fleet (many species could be hundreds of thousands of light years from their homes) would be on route to Federation Space. It's likely Starfleet would look to Lynch as some kind of hero; for braving almost impossible odds and forging a Federation of his own to stop the Syndicate. I think that he would have felt incredible guilt for the things he did unbecoming of a Starfleet officer; and would likely resign his commision and continue to use his experise elsewhere. Encarta could possibly be salvaged, however she could just as easily be decommisoned. An offical hearing was scheduled to determine the events leading up to Encarta's decommisioning, and to look into the massive loss of life to ship and crew. Lynch was called to trial, but never shows. Likely some of the real story leaked during this time making Lynch wanted for questioning. Lynch likely out continued feelings of guilt evades arrests etc. Sort of a rogue leader.<<

Hope this helps.

Oh no! Do you really think Starfleet would come after Lynch and take his rank!?

Hi rshell,

I think some of his actions in the rift were a little beyond questionable. Keep in mind Lynch simply exited the rift, he was unable to thwart the Syndicate, and the rift likely continued to expand in subspace and is an ongoing threat. I'm sure Starfleet will explore options on finding a way to 'destroy' the artificial star system eating anomaly, but until then we'll never know. The Menous system is likely locked down and no ships allowed to enter etc. The idea behind this film was I really wanted to tell the story Voyager seemed unwilling to tell. Insert Year of Hell and Equinox, combine the stories and make our hero the bad guy. Let's say Captain Ransom returned with the Equinox to Federation Space, sure he got his crew home but what would happen to him? Would his crew coverup the evidence and lie to the investigation team? What would have happened when Voyager got in regular communication with Starfleet and told the real story? That's what the next Encarta story was going to be.
