ST and The Twilight Zone

I recently watched the TZ episode "No Time Like the Past" (also the title of the most recent Greg Cox ST novel) for the first time in decades and was struck by how much of a "City on the Edge of Forever" vibe I got from it. Anybody else want to draw comparisons between ST and TZ?

Well, TZ and Trek shared some of the same writers: Richard Matheson, Jerome Bixby, George Clayton Johnson, and possibly a few more I'm forgetting.

^...add to that Roddenberry's eulogy to Serling upon his death and the number of actors the two series shares, you've got a pretty compelling case...for conjecture...but I do believe The Great Bird of the Galaxy was greatly influenced by Serling and TZ...how could he not be?

Jerry Sohl is the only other one listed on IMDb. Although Sam Rolfe (creator of The Man from UNCLE) has a "based on an idea by" credit on one TZ episode and wrote "The Vengeance Factor" for TNG and "Vortex" for DS9.
