ST 2009 Questions

I'm not "wrong" I have a different opinion, it is relevant to a conversation about the problems with the film (of which there are many). It's uncool to poke fun at mental health issues, especially for a moderator.

Personally I don't like film at all, I really don't get all the praise it gets even now 9 years later.

It's a good film, designed for fans of film goers, not just Star Trek Fans, it has a story that explores Kirk as a person, flaws and all, and what led him to start becoming a great leader.

It pushes forward with the TOS idea of being an "action/adventure" show with some social commentary woven throughout.

Now, is any of that going to change a person's mind? Probably not. But, hopefully it shed some light on the praise the film receives.

You don't have to like it to acknowledge a film's strengths. I largely do not like TWOK for a variety of reasons but I love how it was put together by Meyer, who wasn't a Trek fan, by the way..
