ST 2009 Questions

balls

Commander
Red Shirt
Just rewatched and had a couple of questions: When Prime Spock is left on Vulcan, he's wearing a nifty little parka and gloves. Did Nero give that to him? Was Nero's master plan to have the jacket when he did his research and determined that he was going to dump Spock on Delta Vega (which seems a lot like Hoth). Just seems kind of nice for a mining ship to have on hand for Spock to have.
Also, when Nero confronts kirk he tells him that he killed his father. How does Nero know that?
Maybe I missed it.

They are a mining vessel, and Nero intended Spock Prime to be able to see it, so yes, he would make sure that Spock would live to see that painful moment. Since mining involves a wide variety environments, the idea that the Narada wouldn't be equipped for that is not that far fetched.

Nero had been reading Starfleet records. Wouldn't take a genius to read the crew manifest of Kelvin and put two and two together to make Kirk.

I'm more curious where Spock got the wood for his fire in an arctic wasteland.

And yes, Nero wanted Spock well dressed to survive the cold enough to watch Vulcan die. And he's apparently been keeping tabs on how his arrival has altered history. He was sitting around for 25 years, after all. Gotta have a hobby while waiting to enact your evil plan.

Funny enough, I figured out most of this without those comics and have not read the majority of them.

You just answered your own question. Nero provided Spock with firewood to insure his survival in the interests of making Spock live with the pain of losing his homeworld. And providing Spock the means of defending himself from ice monsters, because Nero hates ice monsters more than he hates the man he considers responsible for his home's destruction.

More he didn't want Spock to die because Nero wanted to keep on hurting him.

His hate for Spock would not be quenched.

Spock knew there was an outpost within walking distance. His survival was probably never at stake.

Plus, they're from the late 24th century, so presumably they have replicators and could manufacture any clothing items they had the patterns for.

And because they're dastardly Romulans, they probably have designer patterns instead of all those fugly public domain onesies they wore in Next Gen:p

they must've let spock clear his stuff out of the jellyfish before they dumped him on delta vega. star trek beyond shows that he had a few personal effects that only could've come with him from the 24th century, like that cute picture of the crew from star trek V (and not VI, for some reason). since spock never returned to the jellyfish before it was destroyed, he must've had a napsack or something.

and also:
It's a big bag of shite, Nemesis was a better film

Yep, if I wanted to watch a Star Wars film there are 9 to choose from, why watch this?
If you have something of value to contribute to the discussion of this thread's topic, then you're welcome to join in.

However, if off-topic drive-by slams such as the above examples are the only thing you have to offer* to the conversation, then you'd do better to refrain from posting in the thread altogether, and simply move on until you find a topic more to your liking.

(* This condition seems to be afflicting you quite often of late - it's bordering on chronic. Might want to see if there's something you can do about remedying that.)

I've seen Star Wars. It was not Star Wars.

Star Trek VI was a pretty harrowing experience for Spock.
