As they are missing at the moment,do you think they should be round or square?

And why they should be the former or the latter.

The windows on the ship I mean.

Also how many windows should be on the disc and secondary hull as well as on the neck?

I think it was about 12 to 16 windows per side on the secondary hull and about 18 on the saucer rim.

Furthermore should the windows be lit or dark in contrast to to the Enterprise-D which had an absurd number of mindows, usually all lit.

Or even better - make them interactive. You could set a value of transparency (when opaque, looks like hull / bulkhead) and other things like zoom or color filter. Maybe even starmap projector / tactical display. Built-in "VISOR-mode", if you want. :-)
