*Spoilers* Why didn't we get Q?

I like E-Blonde's idea. It would have been funny if in one of Daniels trips in time with Archer, Q and possibly Picard or Riker would have been standing in the background in a crowd watching Daniels and Archer in TNG uniforms.

Q also has a history with Guinan - who was apparantly in one of the story ideas for Season 5 - if you were going to use Q perhaps as a foe for her (with the Ent crew helping her out) would possibly be one way to do it.

Not that I necessarily think that it was needed.

LOL@the title of this thread.

A. It's not a spoiler
B. If you're treating it as a spoiler, it's spoiled anyway by being in the title where everyone can see it *facepalm*

My theory?

Whoopi Goldberg never agreed to revive Guinan as her mid-22nd century self, which meant the fans' longheld desire to see her unpleasant past history with Q mentioned in TNG Season 2 play out on screen was not going to happen. Hence...no Q/DeLancie story was ever pushed far enough, if anywhere at all.

After the subpar if not downright lame VOYAGER stories with Q, I don't think even the Beebs were going to revive him in an earlier time period unless someone like Guinan were also along for the ride.

He made appearances on TNG, DS9 and VOY, so why not on ENT?

Did Brannon and Braga say they didn't want to include him to start a fresh?

I know he was first seen on TNG and some might say it was an effort to improve the timeline, but he could have easily done that trick where minds are wiped.

Thank God he did not appear on Enterprise.

His episode of DS9 was unwatchable.

With the exception of Death Wish, the character's Voyager appearances were pathetic. I love John DeLancie, but he had also aged too much to play the character believably as an immortal being.

Although very well used in "All Good Things..." the character/concept was very tired once TNG ended.

The difference between "Death Wish" and his other VOY appearances was the difference between a beautiful sunrise on a tropical island and the landscape of northern New Jersey after a major nuclear war. After 1995/96 every appearance of DeLancie in the TREK universe was either disappointing or downright horrible.

The Q episode of DS9 was more of a Vash rehash than anything else so far as I could tell. Q was along for the ride because the last time we saw Vash conniving and scheming he took her with him.

Of course Q was in ENT, he was future guy silly. And if northern New Jersey was hit by a major nuclear war how would you be able to tell?

Why didn't we get Q?

Because Desmond Llewellyn died ten years ago, stupid.

(*Rimshot*)

Now pay attention to the lame-ass jokes and comments, 007, because the Mods are getting fed up with all this...;)
