you know what's funny? i'll take Franklin style ships over Daedalus-class ships any day of the week.

I myself think that the registry is to high. It should be in the low to mid double digit. That unless, the Federation decided to re-register all the starships that serve in Earth Starfleet? I could picture NX-O1 Enterprise giving a new registry.

I love the TOS nacelles with glowing rear spheres. I've always thought those spheres should glow, and I know it's a point of contention among some TOS die-hards.

Not much a point of contention for me, but IIRC it was a conscious decision by Jefferies and/or Roddenberry that the rear portion of the nacelles not glow, lest they look like rockets.

Eh, they look like Star Trek nacelles. No one even knows when Kelvin was supposed to have been built.

She was pretty old and well worn in 2233, could well have been the late 2100's when she was first constructed.

I just take it by registry. The Kelvin is 1187 ships difference from the Enterprise. Thats a lot of ships and it makes it easier that way

On the other hand, registries are completely inconsistent . They seem designated for certain roles/classes rather than actual order.

I just make it simple in my head and have registries simplified to order of build. If I put too much thought into things, I will go mad
