I actually think the secondary hull looks like an Andorian ship.

There are similarities, but I find it also has a striking resemblance to the new Klingon ships seen in the movie.

I think it's reasonable to discuss how useful this ship would be in battle. We have seen in Star Trek how small ships are able to defeat larger ships, i.e. the Defiant against the Lakota

Didn't the Lakota almost destroy the Defiant in their fight.

It was a stalemate for both ships, but that's in another life.

The Vengeance staring down the Enterprise is a classic example of a david v goliath in space, you're never going to get a small antagonist shuttle craft sized ship to dramatically work no matter how much trek tech babble is thrown into it.

The Defiant had major system failures on a number of decks and her shields were down. The Lakota was one good hit away from being space debris. The battle would end up as a Pyrrhic victory for the Defiant.

As I mentioned in the other thread, for an oragnization that can build Spacedock the size difference between the Enterprise and Vengeance is trivial.

The ship is a symbol for going into darkness? Instead of bright friendly vessels that embody peace and optimism, you now have starfleet expressing their bleak outlook of the universe with hulking gunships.
