spoiler free for XII?

Absolutely. I did it for Enterprise, Nemesis and XI, and will do it again. So much more enjoyable that way.

Not happening. I'm weak like that.

I'll have to depend on Abrams and the rest to keep the secrecy and not spoil me much.

*raises hand* Ok, I will. Although, I will want to know *one* specific spoiler and I may change my mind on that one too. ;)

I love to follow the making of movies but I also like to remain spoiler free. I was able to do it for XI and I think I will be able to do it for XII.

I've always wanted to ruin one of these threads.

Hey, everybody! In Star Trek XII, SNAPE KILLS DUMBLEDORE! BAM! You're all done!

Seriously, though. Yes, I was spoiler-free for XI and very, very happy about that. Even though it meant I had to abandon the BBS for about two months before the movie. I did watch the trailers -- obsessively -- but that mostly served to heighten my anticipation.

By contrast, when Nemesis was on the eve of release, I not only avoided all spoilers, I would even change the channel when a TV ad for it came on. This went a little bit overboard. However, it was very worth my while to have avoided the entire pre-NEM hatefest that apparently went on online, because it meant I could go into theaters at midnight on 12/13/03 with a completely open mind. And, you know what? I loved it. Nemesis is a wildly underrated movie that, while flawed, had all its flaws amplifed a hundredfold by a hostile fandom that got hold of a script before its release.

Which is why it's vital that XII have the same tight security as XI.

Oh, I'll read as much spoilers for XII as I can.

Problem is, Abrams and Cohorts go to ridiculous lengths to maintain their secrecy. Still, the spoilers for XI were out there if you knew where to look, and the same will be true for XII.

I will be spoiler free but not as anal about it as I was with ENT (which I got spoiled on anyway for two major plot twists). I remember getting very stressed out over avoiding all spoilers for AOTC.. which meant not reading tons of stuff that even hinted SW might be a topic. Too stressful. So I won't read the forums about STXII but I won't let it kill me if something seeps into my consciousness.

Glad to see I have some company. I was too excited about a new Trek film to keep away from this place and spoilers but for the new film, I'm bailing as soon as it's far enough along for us to know anything definite. ;)

I managed to remain spoiler free for XI and knowing how J.J. likes to keep his projects secret it shouldn't be too hard.

Spoiler free or not, doesn't effect the actual watching of the movie. Personal opinion, if knowing how something ends somehow changed the enjoyability of a film/book/game it would leave it with no re-watch/read/play value.

But, I don't actively go looking for spoilers, I can give you that much.

Enterprise had plot twists? I remember everything being predictable and obvious. Aside from the Alien Nazi, but there were no advance spoilers about him.

I'll take the pledge! I did for last movie (even though I went totally insane, and only learned about it in late 2008). Two years is gonna kill me, but it'll make the movie so awesome, I'll have to take an eight-hour nap afterwards.
