Spoiler! Casting rumour for next season.

^RE: Dana Scully

Imagination-wise? Totally.

Legally? Wouldn't happen.

I really don't see why not. L&O's Det Munch appeared on X-Files, and that crossover not only involved 2 competing production companies in 2 different countries, working at 2 competing studios, and for shows on 2 competing networks.

They pulled that off without too much legal entanglement, so I don't see why a character taking a trip across the pond would be any more difficult to pull off.

Moreover, Carter loves that kind of stuff, is a fan of NuWho, Moffat and Davies, and IIRC pretty much owns every aspect of the X-Files property, so it's certainly possible on the American end. And I'm pretty sure I've read that both Moffat and Davies are X-Files fans, and already work in a universe that's full of crossovers, both overt and subtle.

Less or more subtle than when they did the Simpsons?

I got my rocks off watching Season 2 of Californication recent like, because Mulder was hanging out with and sharing whores with a Frakking Cylon, it was the uncut xrated version of Whatever became of Starbuck all over again.

Gillian Anderson is the only celebrity I've ever had a crush on. That stems from her openly admitted uninhibited sexual appetite.

Used to love the X-Files, then it got bad. Then I waited patiently and was rewarded with a really bad movie. To make up for that, I'd love to see her in Doctor Who.

If we could be sure she'd be a gingernut, if Anderson is going to be anyone, I've always thought it would be delightfully interesting to see a modern Doctor overlap into the vague 70s/80s U.N.I.T. era of the third doctor for a daytrip, where upon some roles would have to be recast even though a few marvelous actors are not quite dead yet...

Liz Shaw.

Love it! Not to detract from Caroline John, who was a beauty, but I'd love to see the character back and Anderson would be a perfect fit.
