Sybok and Giant Spock were both worm food by the time Picard was born, so it must've been regular-sized Spock. Or maybe fun-sized Spock.
Going by some of the recent teasers, it's more likely Lickable Spock.

Still it's funny as hell. He's just Spock in my opinion. Let's keep his real first name a mystery like in the original show and movies.
Won't make a difference. Uhura and Sulu are still just Uhura and Sulu to most people.
Why? It's like dancing around calling "Number One" just "Number One." It's needlessly awkward and betrays the idea of actually getting to know the characters in a different way rather than just repeating the past. Sorry, just because it was done in the past doesn't make it the best idea going forward.
Well it looks like the name will just be in the book. I think I got to know the character pretty well just with the name Spock.
The name is from the books. A book that came out in 1985.
As if the books never filled in gaps.
I’m not bothered if they do fill out Spock’s name, but at the same time I don’t think there’s any pressing need to.
The more important question would be:
Has Spock ever told Kirk the name?
