Spock vs. Data: UFC Rules. Who Wins?

Data>Spock

Ensign
Red Shirt
I don't know how many of you are familiar with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, but I'm an avid fan. If you aren't, then I guess Google it. But essentially it's cage fighting with very limited rules. Depending on which promotion you compete it there are even fewer rules.

So assuming that Data and Spock were to square off in one of the "fewer rules" promotions who do you think would win?

The match would be three 5-minute rounds. The ways to win would be to knockout your opponent, get the ref to stop the fight due to savage ownership of your opponent, have your corner throw in the towel or have the fighter quit.

In my opinion Data takes this one in the first round. He's much stronger than Spock, he's immune to Spock's Vulcan pinches and mind tricks and cardio wouldn't be a factor for Data. Actually, under UFC rules Spock wouldn't be allowed to pinch or strike to the back of the head. That makes it even more of a shoe-in for Data.

Thoughts?

So lemme get dis str8...
You set up a match that the guy you like is the only one who could win. Just in case you outlaw anything the other guy can do as "tricks" or "wouldn't be allowed".
Also, the guy you don't like is against violence for the sake of "fun".
This has to be the worst "what if" scenario I've witnessed to date. So I, like Spock, would choose not to participate. :vulcan:

Data more or less has the strength of superman and the intellect of Einstein, he feels no pain so all that grappling/submission, tap-out stuff would never work. Data, he's unstoppable unless you find his off switch or blast him with a photon torpedo. UFC is beneath Spock anyhow, so I guess its a no-show. I can't see how Spock would see entertainment in two men getting into a cage a acting like apes trying to beat each other up....the whole thing is very illogical

LOL @ "UFC is beneath Spock." He used to spar with Captain Kirik all the time. The act of combat was obviously of interest to him.

Unless of course you're suggesting that the UFC would have been beneath Leonard Nimoy and his body of work, in which case I respectfully submit his stint on General Hospital as rebuttal.

Participants who b-tch about the rules don't really want to be $#%^& fighters (to quote Dana White). If Spock can't hang then maybe he needs to just pack his bags, quit upper decking his house guests and go do a run in the loser house until the show raps taping.

b.s. you can't just make a blanket statement like this without supporting facts.
I can. This is only fictitious, remember?
While your initial statement rivals the analytical prowess of some of my MMA journalist pals I'm still going to hold you to a higher standard. Why would/how would Spock win?
Just like I said: By kicking his ass. :p

No seriously, I like the idea with Data's off-switch. Spock would figure this out in no time.

Obviously Data would have an overwhelming advantage, but since I like the character of Spock FAR more than I like Data, I would be rooting for him to find a clever way of winning. Since the "off-switch" doesn't kill Data, then I don't see why it couldn't be a valid tactic, but I don't care enough about UFC to study the rules to find out for certain. :p

Spock gets Kirk to sub. There is no AI/Machine/Computer/Android/Robot that cannot be stopped by Kirk.
