Spock DID Get Emotional in this Show!!!

I am far from an expert, but I teach psychology. If any specialist wants to weigh in, I willingly defer. Here's what I know:

Emotion is response. It includes a bodily reaction including facial muscles, and then a "feeling" that occurs just slightly later. The latest I've read, the researchers aren't quite sure why we need the concomitant "feeling." if our bodies are already moving toward or away (e- moto) from the stimulus and our faces are communicating, why do we need to feel that feeling inside?

Also: if I recall correctly, if one trains oneself to be less outwardly expressive, one will also feel less strongly over time. The body affects the mind, of course. If you need to feel better, raise your eyebrows, etc.

Spock starts Kohlinar, the complete purging of emotion. I wonder what that's like?

Vulcans are trained to not have emotions, even though they can feel lots of emotion without their discipline.

I'm not sure why you quoted my post. I don't see anything in this one that was a response in any way to mine.

I was saying who I thought did the best job. I was talking about Leonard Nimoy doing Spock.

Vulcans are trained not to express emotions, the only ones that sucessfully remove their ability to feel and express emotions are the kolinarhus. If they were human, we would call them sociopaths lol
The kids who bullied Spock in school expressed cruelty, nothing logical about those little scumbags. The Vulcan state up to the mid 22nd century seemed to revel in prejudice and disdain toward humanity. At best they were too patronising. Young T'Pau well she almost killed someone for her cause, fanatical woman.
