Spock/Chapel are not a good couple. The build up was the ''fun'' part

(Also - at this point I really want to know what brought Spock & T'Pring in a relationship. Was it just happenstance? Because apart from getting some action, Spock seemed weirdly passive about the whole thing)

I believe it's always been an arranged marriage that started when they were children.

Personally, Spock and Chapel remind me of a relationship I had when I was young, so it's realistic to me.

As I finished up watching Star Trek IV today, I realized that my memory had been playing tricks on me. Chapel is not sitting literally right next to Spock in that scene, but she is right there in the front row with the "family".

Noticed that same thing on my rewatch a few days ago, but I was still surprised how much screen time Chapel had in IV that I didn't even really remember. I had forgotten how good that movie is; it's been too long since I watched it. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did.

Plus, Kirk Thatcher. I was singing along with the song on the bus.
