Spock/Chapel are not a good couple. The build up was the ''fun'' part

It's not done.

Of course, these two were aware of one another, as they say, from their first meeting in the first episode. As someone once said to me, "You two were never friends for five minutes. Everyone could see that curiosity was killing the both of you."

The build up was good, but since they've been "Together" its been kinda crap. as in, they don't know what kind of relationship they have, especially with Christine, Spock is trying what he thinks is right, but getting the cold shoulder.

I think Christine wanted him, but now that she has him, she doesn't know what to do, as in like, here's a great guy, but I usually date loosers, I don't know how to act, or act like I usually act in that she pushes them away.
Spock is like, What do you want me to do??

Heh .. So like most 'real' relationships.
As someone said above, the reality is never as good as the fantasy.

This might come off as a bit meh.. but..
Spock needs to step up and say what he wants, and if he doesn't get it, end the relationship. I Dispise one way relationships where 1 person gets all the time and effort and the other just kinda gives. What about Spocks feelings, what about his needs. He's trying... Ugh.. just hate these kinds of relationships.. Relationships are about BOTH parties trying to make each other happy.

I think the build-up was actually done pretty well - the sexual tension was intense. Having the first kiss right at the end of a T'Pring meet-the-parents episode? Ouff. (But great entertainment).

But then? Nothing. The only thing we "saw" of their relationship was them playing a game of chess. Then break up already.

It feels weirdly similar to the JJ movies, where - after the initial shock of coupling Spock & Uhura - they just didn't know what to do with them, so just broke them up & then put together again.

(Also - at this point I really want to know what brought Spock & T'Pring in a relationship. Was it just happenstance? Because apart from getting some action, Spock seemed weirdly passive about the whole thing)

Spock is TOTALLY a Mary Sue in TOS. He's even better at other people's jobs than they are. Need a code decription Uhura - Spock's got it. Weird alien life form Lt Exobiologist? Spock worked that out three scenes ago. Engine Imbalance Scotty? Spock will fix it. Disease ravaging the ship. Spock is immune. Aging fast? Vulcans live longer. Need I go on?

He's the worst Mary Sue everrrr and you show your prejudice by blaming Chapel for not dying.
I guess they needed to give Nimoy something to do as the second lead. Compare XO Spock to XO Riker, one shouts 'Shields up' a lot, the other is a Starfleet officer of all trade and master of all of them because....Vulcan

I like the SNW Spock/Chapel romance, however I wish they kept them on a slow burn that never quite crossed the line, would explain the future TOS dynamic.

As for Boimler, he is the voice of the Trek fan who expect the characters to fit the image they have in their heads. Hey, I read your biography, so I know about every aspect of your life, now please fit the image living in my mind!

To be honest I'm not sure they were doing much except shagging, and I think that's part of the point. They worked better as friends. I don't know if episodes specified time passed between episodes, but I kinda think it lasted a week.
