Spiderman 4 villain to ONLY be Lizard?!

Personally i hope this is true. The Spidey franchise was in danger of plummeting into the same abyss the 90's Batman films did with far too many villains competing for screentime.

I never understood why they did that to begin with. Burning up all the super villains simply depletes the fuel for good stories.

It at least made some kind of sense in Batman Returns. Catwoman isn't big enough to be the only villain in a Batman movie so they paired her up with the Penguin. However all teamups in the next two were just dumb. They completely wasted Bane who should have had his own movie.

Would a studio allow a summer $$$$$$$ movie to have Dylan Baker as the headline villain?

I always thought that if the Lizard was going to show up in the films then it was time to turn Peter into the Man-Spider. Sort of a two-part storyline, first half has Conners turning into the Lizard but with Peter's help he is able to regain his mind if not his body. The second half has Peter's genetic mutation hitting full force turning him into the man-spider and in the end it is the Lizard that has to save him.

Anyway they do it I've always liked the Lizard.
Thats an excellent idea, much like they did in the 90s cartoon

The Lizard would be sweet, esp. after the setup he's had over the other films.

But good-God we need to stop the Peter/MJ angst. It was down-right painful in the last movie. Either McQuire can't act or Rami can't direct him to act. When Peter acts all cry-cry and mopey it's painful to watch and the Peter/MJ "rommance"/angst scenes drag like a Clana Barness of Mopitude scene. So, please, no.

Again why not Mysterio?

Parts of the Lizard were already seen with the movie version of Doc Ock. I'd prefer Mysterio or Kraven (who don't have a connection to Peter Parker but do provide intense challenges). I also like Black Cat but she probably couldn't work.

The Jackal (and his clones) could work as a multifilm villain but that'd be asking for trouble.

Bring back Doc Ock.

I thought the problem with the last movie was Rami shoving sandman down our throats. That was already one villain too many and they didn't play the black suit for what it was worth but rather made a joke of it. Also the Mary Jane, Parker and Harry drama really screwed the movie and turned it into daytime teen drama.

Only a lixard??
Will he have blue warp nacelles?

Can someone sombrero this would be Gozilla, por favor?

And remember kids: Don't do drugs.

Or you could forget about drugs entirely and get the TrekBBS sombrero reference: :techman:

I won't be watching Spiderman 4. The previous films are an absolute mess that make the JB Batman films digestable by comparison. Honestly, why do we allow Hollywood to shovel garbage in our mouths and then ask them for more?

I got the reference, the syntax of the post is what I was talking about.

^^ Syntax itself would be a far more favorable Spiderman villan.

Maybe they thought if they threw in enough baddies, they wouldn't need a story.

Lizard, eh? So is Dylan Baker coming back to play the part again? (he played Curt Connors before, but totally non superpowered)

I find it interesting that Lizard will be the next Spidey villain and we now have V on tv again...ABC-Marvel-Disney???

I am just messing with ya.

:p

Vemon was pretty cool. Is he "dead" from the 3rd movie? There was so little of him leftover why not use him again?

There's been rumours going around for years that Marvel is desperate to spin Venom off into his own series of films.
And at the moment it appears that a script is being written for such a film. So Venom is unlikely to pop up again in the Spidey films.
