Well, I hope this time around they make Gwen Stacy the love interest. Although I did like the movie version of Harry for not being the neurotic manchild he was in the comics (his current personality in the comics owes something to the Movies), I could actually take him seriously as a supervillain (though he never really became one...).

And hopefully since they already did the love triangle thing in the Raimi movies, Harry will already be with Liz Allen and not make a pass at Gwen.

I agree that I hope Gwen Stacy is used this time as the love interest...Mary Jane I think was used because she is a popular character and relevant at the time they made the movies plus Gwen had been long dead. I believe that MJ had been Peter's love interest in every incarnation of the script going back to James Cameron's. Harry's character and personality seem to be taken from the Ultimate Harry Osborn who was a bodyguard for Peter basically and helped protect him from Kong and Flash and in turn Peter did his homework for him "tutored" him. They developed a true friendship later on.
